Have you ever noticed a tine that just sounded off while playing your kalimba? This is almost always because one of your tines is out of tune and needs to be readjusted back to playing perfect notes. It may make a buzzing sound or just sound plain ugly. No matter, we've got the solution for you!
Of course, the easiest solution would be to simply use the tuning hammer we provide in your box and use that to tune the tines to your liking. There are plenty of videos on YouTube providing an easy demonstration on how to use the hammer.
A very simple trick to removing the buzzing sound from one of your tines is moving it to the left or right. Sometimes when we strum a tine, we may play it a little hard and move the tine out of place a bit. Try moving the tine left and right until you hear that pretty note again.
If this didn't solve the issue, you can also try sticking something like a piece of paper underneath the tine where it is connected to the bridge piece. This will provide a slight cushion and may remove the annoying sounds as well.
Happy playing!
